Account Executive

Hi, I’m Lawrence. I’m an Account Executive in tech sales who grew up in South West Sydney. I first stumbled into sales while working part-time at uni, selling consumer electronics. What hooked me was the idea that I could control my own income, the more I sold, the more I earned. It felt like a game I could win if I put in the effort.

Growing up, I was pretty shy and anxious, especially when it came to meeting new people. Sales became my unexpected therapy, pushing me out of my comfort zone and helping me grow into someone who could connect with others confidently. I was also one of those people who didn’t really know what they wanted to do in life. I studied marketing but never had too much luck in pursuing it, sales, though, kept calling me back. On this episode of Rice n Mics, we dive into my journey, how I got to where I am today and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. If you’re starting out in sales, my advice is simple: get as much volume and exposure as you can, whether that’s making dials or serving customers. And if you’re still figuring out what you want to do, remember that sales is a skill that’ll serve you in almost every aspect of life.

Oh, and a fun fact: when I’m not closing deals, I’m co-hosting a podcast with my 2 mates called ‘Backdoor Banter’. We talk about self-improvement and what we do to progress in life.
