Hey I'm Peter! In 2019 I graduated from USYD with my 3.5 year Commerce degree... and yep you guessed it... I became a video editor.

I knew I didn't want to work for a big corporate firm. A few driving factors such as my height insecurity, my people-pleaser mentality and desire for personal fulfilment forced me to take the path less travelled.

I wanted to utilise my hobbies & passions to drive my career. Aside from magic and dodgeball, one of my biggest passions is video editing.

Immediately after graduating from uni, I applied and landed my first full-time job as a social media video editor for Kerwin Rae, a high performance business coach in Sydney. I just couldn't believe I got paid to edit and learn incredible information from one of the best!

Fast forward to 2023, I'm working at my dream job with Vinh Giang (@askvinh), a communication teacher, keynote speaker & magician. Honestly one of the most down-to-earth human beings you'll ever meet. My proudest achievement was that I was able to grow his social media following from 100K to 3M followers across all platforms in only 9 months!

As a Vietnamese-Asian, taking an untraditional career path can be scary especially with all the voices of everyone around you telling you to have a "safe" career. I'm lucky to have supportive parents, however it's definitely not been easy, with a lot of self-doubt and "trust the process" moments, hoping everything goes well.

I'm glad I listened to my gut and did what felt right to me because I can happily say that I'm living my dream which is "doing what I love with people I love to make the world a better place."

I hope my journey inspires you & opens your mind to the possibilities of finding work that feels like play, and to challenge the norm and live a life that's aligned to your values!

If you want tips on how to make it as a video editor, youtube, content creation, social media growth or just wanna chat about life, you can DM me on Instagram!
